Palm Sunday

Jesus and the Twelve went out to the Mount of Olives into a garden called Gethsemane. The disciples sat to rest, to digest the food, and to reflect on what Jesus had said and done at the Passover like meal. Jesus asked Peter, James and John to stay close to him and to keep watch. I extend that same invitation of Jesus to you “to keep watch” with us at Annunciation as we commemorate Holy Week and Easter.
On Holy Thursday we gather at 9:00 AM for Morning Prayer in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. At 5:30 PM there is a shared parish dinner in Selbert Hall with dishes-to-pass and set around roast beef entree. Mass of the Lord’s Supper begins at 7:00 PM with Reposition until 10:00 PM. On Good Friday Morning Prayer is at 9:00 AM with 12:00 PM Stations of the Cross. We gather at 3:00 PM for the Passion of the Lord, Adoration of the Cross and Holy Communion. In the evening at 7:00 PM join us for Taize Prayer – a simple service of scripture, song and prayer. On Good Saturday, Morning Prayer is at 9:00 AM with Blessing of Easter Baskets in the church at 12:00 PM. The Easter vigil begins at 8:00 PM with the blessing of fire, liturgy of the Word, renewal of baptismal promises and Eucharist. Masses on Easter Sunday are 8:00 AM, 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM. (There will be no 6:00 PM Mass.) Together we keep watch as we enter into the Paschal Mystery of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
