Preparing for the Parish US History Book Club

During the summer we may find some leisure time for reading. Our parish has a US History Book Club where participants are given books to read or listen to and then we sit down together to discuss. We meet in September, November, February, April and June. Here is the list of books for 2018-2019:

  • Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI by David Grann
  • Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City by Matthew Desmond
  • Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America’s Shining Women by Kate Morre
  • The Wright Brothers by David McCullough
  • The Best Land Under Heaven: The Donner Party in the Age of Manifest Destiny by Michael Wills

You may want to join us. Please contact Joann and Vince Frisicaro (655-1167) if you have any questions.  I have downloaded the books into my Kindle. It is amazing how much history I don’t know about our nation. Meeting dates and times when we discuss the books are published in the bulletin. You can also call the parish office 683-5254 for more information.
